KSA stand on global events highlighted

JEDDAH: Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, in Monday’s Cabinet meeting, briefed the ministers on the outcomes of interactions with foreign leaders and dignitaries.

Notable among them were King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa of Bahrain, President Edgar Chagwa Lungu of Zambia Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the armed forces of the UAE, Prime Minister of South Korea Hwang Kyo-ahn, and Canadian Foreign Minister Stéphane Dion.
Minister of Culture and Information Adel Al-Toraifi said that the Cabinet welcomed the final statement of the International Conference on Libya in Vienna and their declaration to support the government of the national accord as the only legitimate government. It was also briefed on the results of the Ministerial Meeting of the Group for the International Support of Syria held in Vienna last week.
Al-Toraifi said the Cabinet praised the signing between Kingdom and the UAE on the formation of the Saudi-Emirati Coordination Council; two memorandums of understanding and two action and executive programs with South Korea; and an agreement with Bosnia and Herzegovina on terrorism, organized crime and trafficking of drugs.
Al-Toraifi said that the Cabinet took several decisions including approving the setting up of the Prince Sultan Center for Defense Studies and Research, to promote and support the Kingdom’s defense.
The Cabinet authorized the Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage to discuss with France two draft memoranda of understanding on cooperation in tourism and cultural heritage; and the Ministry of Health to discuss with India a draft memorandum of understanding.
The Cabinet further approved the appointment of members from the private sector to the board of Saudi Post for a three-year term: Wael bin Fouad bin Isa Jamjoom, Fahd bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Qasem and Mohammed bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Daba’an.
The Cabinet approved the agreement signed in Jeddah two years ago with Japan on protecting and promoting investments; new regulations on the transport of dead bodies from accident scenes in the Kingdom; and an air services pact with Brazil.
